Founded in 593 by Prince Shōtoku, Shitennō-ji is considered Japan’s first officially established Buddhist temple. Though rebuilt several times, it retains an original-style layout with a pagoda, peaceful garden, and a strong historical presence. An antique market is held on the 21st of every month.

💴 Entrance fee: Free for the grounds / ¥300–500 for the pagoda and garden
👥 Tourist level: Moderately touristy – appreciated by history and spirituality lovers, generally quiet on weekdays.
