Yakushi-ji is one of Nara’s most important temples and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The layout is very open, with wide courtyards and reconstructed buildings that make everything easy to understand as you walk around. The twin pagodas are the main highlight and give the temple a very balanced feel. I found it calm and spacious compared to central Nara spots, and it’s a nice visit if you want something less rushed and more focused on architecture.
