Located on the hills of Arashiyama, this park is home to over 120 free-roaming Japanese macaques. After a 20-minute uphill walk, visitors reach a panoramic viewpoint over Kyoto and a special area where they can observe the monkeys up close, including a shelter where it’s possible to feed them from inside.

Entrance fee: ¥600 (adult).
Touristy?: Fairly touristy, especially during peak seasons (spring/autumn), but still enjoyable and surrounded by nature.
