Kōraku-en is a large Edo-period garden in Okayama, designed as a strolling garden with open lawns, ponds, small bridges, and carefully framed views. What I liked is how open it feels compared to other Japanese gardens, with wide paths and plenty of space to walk at your own pace. From inside the garden, you also get beautiful views of Okayama Castle, which adds a lot to the atmosphere. It’s an easy and relaxing visit, not rushed, and works well in any season.
