Amanohashidate is a narrow 3.6 km sandbar lined with over 8,000 pine trees, connecting both shores of Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture. You can walk or cycle across it, surrounded by the sea on both sides — a peaceful and one-of-a-kind experience.
It’s also a spiritual place, with several shrines and temples along the path, and famous hilltop viewpoints accessible by chairlift or cable car.
