Atsuta Jingū (熱田神宮) is one of the most important Shinto shrines in Japan, second only to Ise. It is revered as the guardian of the Kusanagi no Tsurugi, one of the three sacred imperial treasures (not on public display).

Founded over 1,900 years ago, the shrine is surrounded by a vast wooded park, offering a peaceful atmosphere despite being close to the city.

📍 Access:
– 5-minute walk from Jingū-mae Station (Meitetsu) or Atsuta Jingū Nishi Station (Subway Meijō Line)

💴 Admission: Free

🕒 Opening hours: Grounds are always open, but the Treasure Hall (museum) closes at 4:30 PM

🏺 Museum: ¥300 (~€2) – exhibits include historical artifacts, kimonos, swords, and more
