Onsen-ji is a Buddhist temple located halfway up Mount Daishi, accessible by the Kinosaki Onsen Ropeway or on foot. It is considered the guardian temple of the hot spring town, and in the past, visitors would come here to pray before bathing in the onsen.

The site is simple and peaceful, with a main hall, a large bell, and a small treasure hall displaying temple artifacts.

šŸ’“ Admission: Ā„300 (for the treasure hall)
šŸ‘„ Touristy? Very quiet — mostly locals and a few hikers
šŸ“ Access:

  • Midway stop on the ropeway

  • Or about 15–20 minutes on foot from the base station

šŸ’” Tip: From the temple, you can continue walking up an easy trail leading to the mountaintop observatory.
