Ohatsu Tenjin Shrine, officially known as Tsuyunoten Shrine, is a historic Shinto shrine nestled in the bustling Umeda district of Osaka. Dating back over 1,300 years, it is renowned for its association with the tragic love story of Ohatsu and Tokubei, immortalized in the 1703 bunraku play Sonezaki Shinjū by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. The shrine has since become a symbol of enduring love and is a popular spot for couples seeking blessings for their relationships.
The shrine grounds are open daily from 6:00 AM to midnight, with the shrine office operating from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Admission is free.
