Shijimaya Honpo is a historic family-run establishment in Kanazawa offering a samurai cultural experience. The family business dates back to 1875 and has strong historical ties to samurai heritage, with the current owners being descendants of a samurai lineage.

Visitors can join a guided experience to learn about samurai and merchant culture, explore the history of the region, and see authentic samurai swords passed down through generations. The experience also includes trying on a samurai kimono and taking photos with replica swords.

An optional course includes a traditional Japanese meal featuring local fermented specialties. The experience is conducted in English and lasts about one hour or more.
