Accessible via the Miyajima Ropeway, Shishiiwa Observatory offers one of the most breathtaking views on the island — overlooking the Seto Inland Sea and its surrounding islands. The name “Shishiiwa” means “Lion Rock” in Japanese, referring to the shape of the cliff.

It’s also the starting point for the final hike to the summit of Mount Misen (about 30–40 minutes from the observatory).

💴 Admission: Included with the ropeway ticket (¥2,000 round trip)
👥 Touristy? Moderately — quieter than the shrine, especially in the afternoon
📍 Access: End of the Miyajima Ropeway line (Shishiiwa Station)

💡 Wear good shoes if you plan to hike to the top. On clear days, you can even spot Hiroshima in the distance. A perfect spot for golden hour photography.
