Zen temple located in eastern Kamakura, renowned for its serene bamboo grove—often compared to Arashiyama’s in Kyoto, but far more intimate. Founded in the 14th century, it belongs to the Rinzai school of Zen and also features a small meditation hall, a dry rock garden, and samurai graves. A path through the bamboo leads to a teahouse where visitors can enjoy matcha in a quiet, shaded setting.

Price: Around 300 ¥ (500 ¥ with matcha in the teahouse)
Touristy? : Moderately touristy. Highly appreciated by those seeking calm, contemplative spaces.
