Extremely steep stone staircase leading to Atago Jinja Shrine, located atop Atago Hill in Tokyo’s Minato district. Known as Shusse no Ishidan (“Stairway to Success”), it’s tied to a legend in which a samurai rode his horse up the steps to impress the shogun and earn a promotion. Climbing these stairs today is said to symbolize personal or professional success. The shrine at the top is peaceful, surrounded by greenery, with a small pond and a serene atmosphere.
