Fukyūan is a small dessert café located on Shimoichinomachi, right in Takayama’s historic area. This spot is known for wagashi, matcha, and seasonal Japanese sweets served in a calm, traditional setting. It’s a good place to slow down after walking through the old town, sit for a bit, and enjoy something simple and well made. The atmosphere feels classic and quiet, very much in line with Takayama’s old streets.
