Kounoyu is the oldest of the seven public baths in Kinosaki Onsen. It’s said to have been used as far back as the Heian period, making it the most historic bath in town. The name means “Bath of Happiness.”

The building is simple and wooden, with a small indoor bath and an outdoor open-air rotenburo surrounded by stones. The atmosphere is quiet and traditional.

💴 Admission: ¥700 (adult)
🕒 Hours: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM (closed Tuesday mornings)
👥 Touristy? Very calm — rarely crowded
📍 Access: About 10–15 minutes on foot from Kinosaki Onsen Station, set back in a quieter area

💡 Tip: It’s a great option if you’d like a more discreet, authentic experience after visiting the more popular baths.
