Ninai Jaya is a small teahouse located within the grounds of Kasuga Taisha in Nara Park. It continues the Edo-period tradition of roadside tea stalls that served pilgrims visiting the shrine. The menu features simple and seasonal dishes such as Manyo-gayu (rice porridge with white miso), kakinoha-zushi (sushi wrapped in persimmon leaf), and traditional sweets like kuzumochi with matcha tea. The thatched-roof building and forest surroundings create a quiet and timeless atmosphere, ideal for a short rest during a walk through the shrine’s paths. Average visit time: 20–40 minutes.
