Nestled at the foot of Mount Misen, just behind Itsukushima Shrine, Momijidani Park is one of Miyajima’s top spots for viewing momiji (Japanese maple trees), especially in autumn. The park follows a small river lined with hundreds of maple trees, creating a peaceful and colorful atmosphere.

It’s also the starting point for the Miyajima Ropeway and several hiking trails leading up Mount Misen.

💴 Admission: Free
👥 Touristy? Quiet, especially in the morning — very popular in autumn, but never overcrowded
📍 Access: 10–15 minute walk from the shrine, on the way to the ropeway

💡 In autumn, the red leaves turn the whole park into a tunnel of color 🍁. Go early to enjoy the soft morning light and avoid the crowds.
