This Buddhist temple stands at the southern entrance of the famous Amanohashidate sandbar. It is dedicated to Monju Bosatsu, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, and draws many students who come to pray for success in their exams. You'll find a large wooden gate and countless fan-shaped omikuji (fortune papers) tied around the temple grounds.

💴 Admission: Free
👥 Touristy? Quiet — well-known locally but rarely crowded, especially off-season
📍 Access: Just a 5-minute walk from Amanohashidate Station

💡 It’s easy to combine your visit with a walk or bike ride across the sandbar, and a scenic view from above via the chairlift or cable car.
