This Itinerary focuses more on those who want to explore outside of the bustling city of Taipei, where most of the beautiful nature resides, specifically in New Taipei City! You'll discover beautiful seashores, gorgeous waterfalls, and unique nature spots.
IMPORTANT: Each day is an independent trip, and you can do each in no particular order!
All of these are accessible by public transport and perfect for any season.
Day 1
Bitoujiao Lighthouse

Majestic Lighthouse Above the Coast
Bitoujiao Lighthouse, located in northeastern Taiwan, is a hidden gem that offers breathtaking views of the coastline. This lighthouse trail is not for the faint-hearted, as it involves some challenging sections and requires advanced climbing skills. However, for those who are comfortable with heights, the experience is truly awe-inspiring.
From the top of the hill behind the lighthouse, hikers can enjoy panoramic views of Bitoujiao, with its geological park on one side and Mt. Keelung and Jiufen on the other. The trail also leads to stunning cliff caves, adding to the adventure and beauty of this coastal hike.

Take your nearest TRA (Taiwan Railways) to Keelung Train Station then take 791 bus which will take you there.

Stunning Coastal View
If you love seashores, then you definitely should visit Bitoujiao! It is a beautiful seacoast located on the Northeastern coast of Taiwan. It has beautiful views of mountains, rocky coastlines, and sparkling blue waters. It has a great hiking trail as well, definitely a must visit during your stay here in Taiwan!
Take your nearest TRA (Taiwan Railways) to Keelung Train Station then take the 791 bus until Bitoujiao Bus Station, you should arrive at Bitoujiao!

Dragon Caves

Snorkeling Paradise
If you don't want to plunge into the water for snorkeling then it's fine, because the views here are really beautiful! The Dragon Cave, located on the East coast of Taiwan, is a top spot for snorkeling enthusiasts. Its name comes from the dragon-like shape of the coastline, which adds to its mystical charm.
To reach this spot from Taipei, it is recommended to have a car. There are public transport options but it is a long drive to get here. It will take roughly 2-3 hours.
Just remember to bring your shade, sunscreen, and snacks, as there are no amenities available at the site.
