To be honest I have mixed feelings of Paracas. A lot of people visit as a day trip from Lima or with a combined tour including Huacachina. If you are short on time, a day trip is totally fine to explore Paracas. The best bits are the ballestas boat tour and the nature reserve.

The actual beach in Paracas is ruined with giant inflatable water parks so the whole area is a bit too touristy for me. Most of the restaurants on the main strip area a bit overpriced as well. I did stay in Paracas for a few days but that was more than enough. There are a few cevicherias that I enjoyed eating at and taking a slower pace but if you are short on time a day trip is totally fine.
