The Plaza Mayor, also known as the Plaza de Armas, is the main public square in Lima. It's been around since 1535 when Francisco Pizarro founded the city. It's surrounded by important landmarks like the Government Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral. It's worth a visit if you have spare time in Lima and want to see a bit more of the older architecture and history.
