The Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, also known as the Red Mosque, is a historic and iconic mosque in Colombo. Built in 1909 by the local Indian Muslim community, this distinctive red and white candy-striped building with a clock tower is what draws in crowds. On Friday it is closed to visitors due to religious reason so make sure to visit another day of the week.
