Wat Phra Yai, also known as the Big Buddha Temple, is a Buddhist temple located on Ko Samui. It features a massive 12-meter-high gold-painted Buddha statue that exudes calmness. Built in 1972, this temple has become a popular tourist attraction due to its ocean views and enjoyable surroundings. Nearby the temple is Big Buddha beach where there are lots of restaurants and shops to enjoy.

Since this is a temple, you do need to cover shoulders and knees out of respect. The temple is free to visit so just make sure to be respectful and quiet.
