Laguna Churup is a stunning alpine lake nestled in the Huascaran National Park. It's a great acclimatisation hike for day 2 or 3 as the lake sits at 4450 meters. It's very easy to do unguided and you can get a shared shuttle from town to the start of the trek.

There is one section with some rock scrambling and ropes so just know that before you go. It's a difficult hike since it's just up the entire way to the lake, but the views are so so worth it. Bring a packed lunch and enjoy the scenery with a snack in hand.

I ended up getting a bit of altitude sickness on the way down from this hike since down is easier for me and I went a bit too fast. When i got in the car on the way back, I felt terribly sick. So go slow on the descent and take altitude seriously!
