To reach Miyajima, you'll take a ferry from Miyajimaguchi. There are two operators: the JR Miyajima Ferry and the Miyajima Matsudai Ferry. Both take approximately 10 minutes and depart frequently throughout the day.

If you're using a JR Pass, the JR Ferry is included, making it the most convenient option. On select departures, the JR Ferry also follows a sightseeing route that passes closer to the iconic floating torii gate, offering fantastic views from the water.

If you don't have a JR Pass, both ferries are excellent choices, so I recommend simply taking whichever departs first. No matter which one you choose, you'll enjoy a quick and scenic ride to one of Japan's most beautiful islands.
