Waplus Roasters has gained international acclaim in the specialty beverage community primarily for its highly seasonal, meticulous Barrel-Aged Coffee program.

• The Process: Raw, green coffee beans are packed into empty oak barrels previously used by the world-renowned local Chichibu Distillery. The beans age inside the casks for several months, soaking up the deep, dynamic spirit profiles and wood characteristics.

• The Roast: During roasting, all physical alcohol content is completely evaporated. What remains is an intense, alcohol-free harmony of classic Chichibu whisky notes embedded cleanly within the coffee beans.

• Highlander Inn Collaboration: Waplus regularly collaborates with Highlander Inn Chichibu—one of Japan’s most legendary whisky bars—to handpick the specific casks utilized for production.
