For a truly authentic local experience, you have to visit the Ikaho Outdoor Bath, a simple and rustic rotenburo nestled in the woods. Here, you can soak in the famous 'Kogane no yu' or 'golden water', which gets its distinct reddish-brown color from its high iron content and is believed to have healing properties. It's a no-frills spot—just you, the mineral-rich water, and the serene nature surrounding you, making it the perfect way to unwind. The entrance fee is very reasonable, but be sure to bring your own towel, or you can purchase one there.
