Callander is a charming town situated on the River Teith in the Scottish council area of Stirling. It serves as the gateway to Scotland’s very first National Park, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. From its neolithic settlement to its 19th-century Gothic church, Callander is steeped in history. Visitors can enjoy picturesque walks along Bracklinn Falls, the Meadows, Callander Crags and Wood Walks. The large hillfort of Dunmore, Roman remains visible at Bochastle Farm and Callander Castle are also interesting historical attractions. For those wanting a lively time, there are festivals galore including Salmon fishing in February, Summerfest in July, Trossachs Beer Festival in August and September, Jazz and Blues in October and Winterfest in December. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it in Callander!
