Charlestown of Aberlour is a charming village in Moray, Scotland, nestled along the Lour burn and flanking the River Spey. Founded in 1812 by Charles Grant of Elchies, it's often just called Aberlour. The village boasts a rich history, with landmarks like the Aberlour distillery, Fleming Hall, and the Victoria Bridge. It was also home to an orphanage founded in 1875. Today, Aberlour is known for its picturesque setting, whisky production, and as the birthplace of Alexander Cameron Sim, who introduced lemonade to Japan. With its quaint streets and scenic surroundings, Charlestown of Aberlour is a delightful destination for visitors and locals alike.
