Finlarig Castle is an early seventeenth-century castle located in Stirling, Scotland. An L-plan tower house, it stands on a mound between the River Lochay and Loch Tay. Built by Duncan Campbell, the 'Black' of Glenorchy, it is a remnant of the many strongholds built in Argyll and Perthshire by the Campbells of Breadalbane. Shrouded in mystery and legend, visitors to the castle will find it covered with remnants from its macabre past - from shadowy dungeons to mysterious pits used for beheading prisoners. It was also where the notorious highwayman Rob Roy MacGregor made a daring visit in 1713. Come explore this dark and fascinating site to learn more about its bloody history!
