One of the best ways to experience the Ancient Town of Hoi An is to hire a bike and cycle around.
Where to get bikes:
We were able to use bikes provided by our accommodation, however they did not supply any bikes with a child seat. Instead, there was a little foam seat on the back of the bike where our older son could sit. We ended up strapping our 1 year old to us in the carrier, which worked well enough.
Alternatively, you can hire a bike from one of the many spots in Hoi An.
Bike Tours:
I've also included a link to a guided bike tour for Hoi An that is highly recommended. This tour will provide you with a bike and take you to all the top places to see in Hoi An Ancient Town. The tour is suitable for children.
Tips for cycling through Hoi An Ancient Town with kids:
Helmets are not a common thing in Hoi An, if you'd like your children to wear one you might need to provide your own.
Being that the streets of the Ancient Town are often clear of cars and motorbikes (local traffic only) it is often quite easy riding
Cyclists need to watch out for pedestrians. It is common courtesy to hop off your bike and walk when crossing bridges
