The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long is a compact UNESCO World Heritage Site site in central Hanoi, full of history and stunning architecture.

We went early in the day to avoid heat and crowds, and had such a good experience. The cutest was seeing all the local school kids who were also visiting.

Allow about 60 - 90 minutes here. This gives you enough time to walk around, enjoy the site and learn about the history without the kids getting cranky.

As the attraction is mostly outdoors, bring sun protection and water.

Entrance fee: $100,000 VND / adult ($6 aud)

Parent tip: We took our pram here as the grounds are easy to walk through. Just know that there are some stairs, so you'll need to leave your pram at the bottom if you'd like to go up.
