The Hanoi Flag Tower is a historic landmark, that was built in the early 1800s as an observation post to the Hanoi Citadel. It is located in the Vietnam Military History Museum.

Entry to the Vietnam Military History Museum: 40,000 VND / person ($2.30 aud)

While it’s not a long stop or a major attraction on its own, it’s a nice, quick place to pause if you’re already exploring this part of the city. There’s open space around the tower, which makes it easier to move through with kids compared to the busier Old Quarter.

You don’t need much time here, 10–15 minutes is usually enough to take a look, walk up the stairs and explore.
