Mua Cave is best known for a long, steep stone staircase that takes you up to a dragon-topped viewpoint with sweeping views of karst peaks and rice paddies, so be ready to climb about 500 uneven steps. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water and sun protection, and know it is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Go early morning or late afternoon for better light and fewer crowds.
We found that there was actually a lot of other things to do at Hang Mua (aside from the popular hike). Our family enjoyed a post hike ice cream, the novelty swing, wondering through the grounds and the lotus field!
How to get here:
We chose to take a taxi from our accommodation in Tam Coc (we stayed at Tam Coc Luxury Homestay). It was about a 15-20 minute car ride, although the time can vary depending on traffic.
Entry fee: 100,000 VND/person
Read the Hang Mua Lookout pin for our experience hiking to the viewpoint.
