Nestled along the Estero River, Koreshan State Park offers a glimpse into the quirky lives of the Koreshans, a 19th-century religious sect. With historic buildings and lush gardens, this park showcases their communal living and belief in an inside-out universe. Visitors can explore bamboo trails, learn about gopher tortoises, and even paddle on the river. It's like stepping back in time to a fascinating chapter of Florida history!
We camped in their campground for 2 weeks and it was a lovely stay! Being right in town is really convenient for shopping but the campsites are surrounded by bush and fields separate you from the road making it feel like an oasis far from civilization!
