Waterfall

An easy walk through a coastal rainforest that leads to a 19-metre waterfall plunging into a turquoise, glacier-fed river. The main trail is a loop of about 1.6 to 2.2 kilometers.

They have made a paid boardwalk here but you can still acess it for free at your own risk (which is what we did) by following these instructions:

Please note, the trail is steep so come prepared with good footing.

From the parking lot, walk to the metal gate which slopes down, away from the bathrooms and continue past the gate, heading down the hill. The short walk takes you down to a bridge over the Mamquam River. When you are standing on the bridge, you are standing over Mamquam Falls, however the waterfall is not visible from the bridge.

Do not cross the bridge (you can walk onto it and look at the view), instead, just before the bridge on the left side, walk to an area where there is a clearing. In that clearing, a trail starts and goes into the forest, immediately descending through the forest. Continue to follow this trail until you reach a wooden platform on the right with a view of the river and Mamquam Falls.

After enjoying the view, you can follow the trail and it will lead you back up in another area or you can turn around and go back the way you came.
