You’ll find the Yukon Wildlife Preserve a short drive from Whitehorse. It’s a conservation facility with large natural enclosures where you can easily view muskox, wood bison, moose, caribou and mountain sheep from boardwalks and viewing platforms. Give yourself 1 to 2 hours for the walk and a guided talk if one’s running in summer, bring layers and sturdy shoes, binoculars and bug spray, and pack snacks because food options are limited. We booked the feeding tour so that we could have a more personalized experience. This included being driven around the park with just us and our guide, as well as a feeding of your choice of animal. We chose the Lynx and it was incredible.
