Les Letchis is a no-nonsense Creole restaurant by the river in Saint-Benoît — good food, generous plates, and a setting that works well if you want a break from the road or a hot lunch after a hike. It’s popular with locals, especially workers on lunch break, which tells you most of what you need to know.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • Traditional caris, civet, rougail, and grilled fish

  • Hearty sides — rice, lentils, gratin chouchou, sometimes sweet potato mash

  • Homemade punch and fresh juice

  • Riverside terrace if you want to sit out (basic, not fancy)

  • No menu theatrics — just food that’s hot, fast, and properly seasoned

It’s not trying to impress tourists. It’s the kind of place you stop at because you’re hungry and leave satisfied. And that’s often better than another overly polished fusion spot.
