La Maison du Laurina

Directions

La Maison du Laurina is not just a coffee farm. It's a tribute to one of the rarest and most delicate coffees in the world, grown only in select corners of Réunion. Located in the lush hills above Saint-Joseph, this estate focuses on Laurina, also called Bourbon Pointu, a naturally low-caffeine variety prized for its subtle aroma and floral profile.

The visit begins with a walk among the coffee trees, then moves into the small roastery where the scent alone is worth the trip. You’ll see how the beans are processed, sorted, and roasted by hand, and then comes the tasting, often served slowly and thoughtfully, like a wine tasting. It’s a calm, educational stop that feels deeply rooted in local knowledge and pride. Coffee lovers and curious travelers alike will appreciate how focused and personal the experience is.

👉 If you enjoy the coffee, buy it on-site. Bourbon Pointu is exported to Japan and is often sold out elsewhere on the island.
