Pic Adam offers one of the closest mountain escapes from central Saint-Denis, with panoramic views over the city, coastline, and high peaks beyond. The trail starts just above La Bretagne and climbs steadily through forested paths lined with guava trees and mountain foliage. The air is cooler here, and on clear mornings, you can see all the way to Sainte-Marie and the northern slopes.

The summit itself is modest — just over 1400 meters — but the view is wide and the silence striking. It’s a popular spot for early-morning trail runners and Sunday walkers looking for a quick escape without needing to drive deep into the island. There’s no infrastructure, but the trail is well-trodden and shaded most of the way.

👉 Go early to avoid clouds rolling in by late morning. And bring a bag for guava picking if you're hiking in season (May to July).
