Le DCP is where locals go when they want fresh fish without the fine dining fuss. The name stands for Dispositif de Concentration de Poissons — a nod to the tuna-fishing method used in Réunion’s waters. It’s part of a small chain around the island, and the Saint-Gilles-les-Bains location is right near the marina, which makes it a good lunch or dinner option after a lagoon swim or coastal walk.

What they do well:

  • Tuna tataki, sashimi, and tartare — always fresh, generous portions

  • Catch-of-the-day grill – usually swordfish, marlin, or mahi-mahi

  • House rum cocktails – strong and served with a view

  • Good value – better prices than the resort spots nearby

The vibe is casual and open-air, with fast service and a rotating blackboard menu. You’re not paying for polished plating or white linens — just reliable seafood and a sea breeze.

👉 Local tip: If they have cari thon (Creole tuna curry) on the day’s menu, get it — it’s underrated.
