Plateau du Kerval sits just above Saint-Paul, overlooking the bay and the coastline below. It’s not remote, but it feels removed. You’re walking on dry red earth here, with short grass, scattered trees, and views that stretch past the savanna toward the sea. It’s a good place to let your thoughts breathe. Not a hike in the traditional sense, more of a quiet stroll with wide sky and far-off waves.

The area is dotted with old stone ruins and sometimes used for grazing, so it still feels lived-in despite the openness. You’ll see local walkers, maybe a few families on Sundays, but otherwise it’s still under the radar. There’s no real infrastructure. No water, no facilities, just dirt paths and a breeze.
