Port de Sainte-Marie is small, simple, and functional. More about daily life than sightseeing. Used mainly by local fishermen and hobby boaters, the harbor has a modest jetty, a few scattered benches, and direct views of the open sea. There’s no glamour here, but that’s part of the charm. On weekdays, it’s almost silent. On weekends, you might catch the soft clatter of tackle boxes, conversations in Creole, and the scent of fried snacks from nearby stalls.

The horizon is wide, and if you're the kind who finds peace in watching boats sway with the tide, it's worth stopping. It’s also one of the few easy-access oceanfront spots in the east without traffic or shops closing in.
