Cap Homard is a short stretch of coast that often gets missed — too wild for beach loungers, too quiet for the crowds. And that’s exactly why it’s worth going. Wedged between the busy beaches of Boucan Canot and Hermitage, it’s a rocky headland with small inlets, scattered shade, and one of the best places to catch sunset without music, bar noise, or sand stuck to your towel.
Here’s what you’ll find:
Flat lava shelves good for sitting, exploring tide pools, or just watching the ocean
Small pockets of sand and tree-covered spots where locals nap or picnic
Calm waters near the reef, good for snorkelling when the sea is flat
Unmarked side trails down from the coast road — no official entry point
Fewer people, no facilities — bring what you need, leave nothing behind
There’s no signage, no café, no bins. Just reef, coral fragments, dried seaweed, and the sound of the sea. It’s a good reset if you’ve had too much noise or crowd at Boucan.
👉 Local tip: Best time to go is 16:30–18:00. Bring drinks and a sarong, sit on the rocks, and watch the sky shift without sharing it with 40 people.
