Plage des Brisants
BeachSightseeing
Directions

Plage des Brisants is not a swimming beach, but it's one of the most popular spots in Saint-Gilles for locals and visitors to hang out. The waves here are rough, and the currents strong, which makes it a favorite for surfers. For everyone else, it’s the vibe that draws people in — music from beach bars, cold drinks in hand, and a huge orange sun dipping behind the ocean in the evening.

The sand is wide, the mood relaxed, and there's always something going on nearby. Beach volleyball games, street performers, food trucks, or a pétanque match in the shade. It’s not the prettiest beach on the island, but it’s full of life and one of the best places to feel part of something.

👉 Don’t leave before sunset. Grab a spot on the rocks or the sand and watch how the locals applaud the sun as it goes down.
