The Place des Vosges, originally known as the Place Royale, is the oldest planned square in Paris, France. Built by Henri IV from 1605 to 1612, it's a gorgeous public park and one of my favourite picnic spots in Paris.

It's lined with elegant and historic houses, which have been called home by many notable Parisians, including author Victor Hugo! Around the edge of the park, it is lined with elegant art galleries and boutiques.
