If you plan to pay the Rocky Mountains a visit, you'll want some reliable shoes.

Be sure to bring closed-toed shoes that are comfortable for long periods of time as well as shoes that can handle a bit of dust, dirt and maybe mud. You'll want good traction, too. No slipping on these very Rocky Mountains. Sneakers will usually be perfect for this, but if you recently got a new pair of hiking boots, be sure to break them in before heading out to the trails.
