I have to include this one because Gaylord Palms really is a vacation all by itself. Just outside Walt Disney World, this massive resort feels more like a mini destination than a hotel.
The highlight is the huge indoor atrium, with themed areas that recreate different parts of Florida, like Key West, St. Augustine, and the Everglades — all under a giant glass roof. You’ll also find multiple restaurants, a full-service spa, and one of the largest resort water parks in the area, which is only open to hotel guests (so it never feels overly crowded).
It’s great for families, couples, or even a staycation if you’re local. There are often seasonal events — like ICE! during the holidays or summer splash parties — so it’s worth checking the calendar before you book.
Rooms are spacious, and many have atrium views, which makes it feel even more like a self-contained escape. You could easily spend a full weekend here without ever leaving the property — but if you do want to hit the theme parks, you’re just a short drive away.
