The Florida Aquarium is one of the best places in the state to really understand Florida’s marine life, not just look at fish behind glass. The exhibits focus heavily on local ecosystems — coral reefs, mangroves, wetlands, and the open Gulf — with massive tanks, sharks, rays, sea turtles, and an outdoor wetlands trail where native birds hang out. It’s well laid out, very interactive, and surprisingly educational without being overwhelming. Plan 2–3 hours, longer if you’re with kids, and go earlier in the day before it gets crowded. Easy add-on if you’re already exploring downtown Tampa or the Riverwalk.
