Gulf Islands National Seashore in the Florida Panhandle is a true coastal treasure — a federally protected stretch of pristine white-sand beaches, emerald Gulf waters, lush marshlands, maritime forests, and rich history that runs along the northern Gulf of Mexico from Perdido Key and Santa Rosa Island near Pensacola over toward Okaloosa Island near Fort Walton Beach.

You'll find miles of sugar-white sand, hidden nature trails winding through dunes and forests, and historic forts like Fort Pickens and Fort Barrancas. At spots like Johnson Beach on Perdido Key, you’ll find shaded boardwalks, picnic pavilions, lifeguards, and easy access to the shoreline.

You can even camp under the stars at sites near Fort Pickens with easy beach access.

It costs about $25 per vehicle — good for 7 consecutive days and covers everyone in the car.
