The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota
Hotel
Directions

If you’re thinking about a really nice place to stay in Sarasota, The Ritz‑Carlton is honestly tough to beat. It’s perfectly situated right on Sarasota Bay, so you’re steps from water views and beautiful sunsets. The service is the kind of hospitality you expect from Ritz — everyone is genuinely helpful and friendly.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and if sunsets matter to you, try to book a bay‑view room . There’s a full‑service spa that’s lovely and the pool area overlooking the bay is one of those places I love to lounge with a drink and a good book.

One of the big perks here is access to the exclusive Ritz‑Carlton Beach Club on Lido Key. You get complimentary shuttle service down to the beach, an exclusive pool and private beach, and reserved loungers and umbrellas that make a beach day feel effortless. It’s a really nice touch and one of the reasons this property stands out from the usual city‑center hotels.

On‑site, you’ll find fine dining and cocktail lounges that are great for a special dinner or a nightcap without having to go far. There’s also a fitness center, marina access, and concierge services that can help you book rentals, tours, or anything else you want to do around town.

If you do want to leave the property, there’s plenty to keep you busy without going far. The Ringling Museum of Art and Ca’ d’Zan estate are nearby and worth the morning or afternoon. Downtown Sarasota has great theaters, galleries, and unique shops. St. Armands Circle is just a short drive for more boutiques and dining, and if you’re up for beach hopping, Siesta Key Beach is about 20 minutes away (trust me, that soft white sand is worth it).

Food options around here are excellent too. For elevated local cuisine, Indigenous is a standout. If you’re craving classic Florida seafood, Owen’s Fish Camp is a locals favorite. For something with a bit of Cuban flair, Columbia Restaurant is a classic.

All in all, if you want a relaxed but elevated base with beautiful water views, a private beach and pool, and easy access to Sarasota’s best, The Ritz‑Carlton is an awesome pick.
